Azuver - A Brazilian Army Wargame

Between the years 2004 and 2006, a Silicon Strategy team developed a Wargame system to Escola de Comando e Estado Maior do Exército (the Brazilian Army School of War) called Azuver (a combination of the portuguese words blue and red). The software, a Geographic Information System that works as a table board game, is aimed at serving as the student's final course training, helping them to follow their way to reach the highest Army degrees.

The project is completely based on free tools. A development center was created inside the School, allowing the research, tests and the development of the application.

The Azuver development environment utilized Conectiva Linux OS, JAVA™ and geoprocessing applications as the GeoTools's API, GeoServer and PostGIS.
